Round two of the Ambridge Labor Day Classic stands in stark contrast to yesterday’s game against Highlands, but with the same result: a big capital-W for the Bridgers.
The first half saw a long grind against a truly formidable Quaker Valley defense, but the Bridgers hung tough, taking several good shots at the opposing net. Despite their efforts, at the half the score remained 0-0.
Senior Goalkeeper Brooke Lively was a key player in the Bridger victory and earned her first home shutout of the season.
The Bridgers came back in the second half hungry for a score. Senior Forward Brandie Nauman obliged with a majestic tap-in:
And Freshman Forward Addie Eisel followed suit.
The Bridgers kept up the pressure for the remainder of the second half, outpacing the Quakers and protecting their net for a final score of 2-0.
